SWB Turbines is a small business engaged in the
development of air-breathing turbine propulsion systems and
commercialization of the cycles developed. From commercial and
government sponsored research and development, through internal R&D,
SWB Turbines is dedicated to the development of efficient, low cost
combustion systems and engine cycles in a wide variety of fuels.
SWB Turbines is also a developer of light-weight hypersonic and
advanced aircraft, with customers throughout DOD and NASA. For
these customers, SWB has developed and performed flight tests on
a variety of aircraft.
Partnered primarily with NASA Hypersonics branches, SWB Turbines
has also developed commercial partners throughout the US, Japan,
and Taiwan.
Through it's 17 years of commercial R&D and 14 years of
government R&D, SWB Turbines has developed the capability to
rapidly prototype propulsion systems and other turbine engine
cycles. Commercialization of Small Business Innovation Research
technology has long been the rule, not the exception at SWB Turbines.
SWB Turbines is in the business of and has the capability to conceive, engineer, design, fabricate, test, produce, and implement micro turbine technology. SWB Turbines has a proven track record of being able to produce results that are both timely and appropriate. SWB Turbines has manufactured engines of their own design with installations in UAV and gas generator applications for NASA, Navy (Naval Air Systems), U.S. Air Force, Teledyne Ryan and McDonnell Douglas, Toyota Ltd, and Boeing. SWB Turbines' key competitive advantage is its innovative, low-cost approach to design and fabrication of miniature air breathing propulsion systems which provide real value to its customers. The use of a streamlined, focused approach to product design leads to rapid technology development cycle times when compared to the gas turbine industry.
